If you really think about it, it is a fair business price. Remember, the lawyer gets all his money by billing clients like you. He has to figure in his establishment costs such as rent, employee salaries, insurance, etc. Add to that the unpredictability of future business (e.g., if he gets work only for 10 days of the month, he still has to pay salaries to staff for the whole month), taxes (including soc. security, medicare, etc. that he has to pay for himself and for staff) and the risk of liability (e.g. what if you sue for malpractice?) and you get the high price.
Of course, it is a market economy, and people can always choose a better and cheaper source for the service. But at some point you will hit bottom, below which the business will be a loss maker, and this bottom will still be high for many!

Now that most of the cases that have LUD on their I-140 got or getting approvals, I want to track how many of you guys have an LUD on 07/13/2008. If you have any other LUD on your I-140, please post them.
Besides LUD on my approved I-140 on 7/13/08 (approved in 2/06), there were LUDS on H1B(approved 3/03, extended 9/05) on 6/28/08 and LUDs on I-485 (filed on 07/02/07) dt 5/23, 6/18, 6/25/08. Anybody seen recent LUDs on I-140+I485+I-129 BTW my pd is 10/05, EB2i Still waiting for magic mail. May lady luck smile on us.

It is a bit early. No checks will be cleared except the legal fee checks. :)
Tomm will be the 23rd...so logically my application has been there for three weeks along with all the other july 2nd filers.
they say they will reach receipting compliance by 1st of August at the NSC...if that is true we need to see some cleared checks right away

Another question.
If I wait until my new I140 got approved through new employer and then switch. Now a days because of PERM process and premium processing for I140, it may be approved within two months.
Then even if the old employer withdraws 140, does it effect the priority date of already approved 140?
Do any one has answer for this? Please respond

PD is always LC filing date.
Incorrect. It is not always.
In most cases, LC filing date is the Priority Date.

He will still be able to use the old employer filed LC date as PD even if the employer cancels LC/I140.

I have taken a screenshot. There are too many errors in this ad, there are chances that this might be posted from Dubai by someone on craigslist. I doubt US based recruiter would use this language, they very well know what can happen to them.

If the non compete agreement between your employer and the vendor is about your employer directly selling your srevices to the client in the future, then you don't have any issue as you are leaving your employer.
If your client is supporting your switch to another vendor, then there seems to be no agreement between the client and vendor regarding vendor change for the same resource..
In general, cases like yours, where the client supports your move, vendors tend to play safe and ignore any non compete agreements, to save the relationship with the client

I am planning on taking an interview date in Delhi. I read that for mumbai, you have to drop your docs 1 week prior to your appointment. Can anyone explain the procedure for Delhi, please?
I am still waiting for it to show the availablity. But I got HDFC receipt from India.
Once date is shown- I will apply for non immigrant visa on the website. Now will they ask me to put my petition info (I-797) at this time? Or I will just fill in DS 156 and DS 157 forms??
Once I fill in the forms (with bar code), I will have to take them along in the interview. Is it true?? Or I will have to drop out my docs. at VFS location even for Delhi consulate????

My PD of JAN 27 05 became current with the March bulletin. While folks from TSC got GCs from March 2nd itself, NSC seemed to have little action.
By some random combination of POJ options, which changed recently, I managed to get a service request in on March 2nd (Type of service requested: -- Outside Normal Processing Times). The same day, I had Infopass and I was told its been "Preadjudicated, under review" and there was some recent movement on my case (transfered internally). This got my spirits up, but in just 2 days, I got a pretty horrible response to my SR, which made me feel this is going to be an uphill battle:
I was about to contact the state senator today, but early today morning we got our CPO emails.
My case is pretty straight forward:

PD: JAN 27 2005 non perm which got approved just in time for July 07 fiasco.
I-485: July 07 filer
RFE in Nov 2008 (immunizations for wife, she had taken certain waivers due to pregnancy --- and Employment verification for myself)
Approval: Today (March 8th 2010)

Hi,
I hope I am posting in the right space and hoping to get some input from people who have been in a similar situation.
My mother is coming from India (Hyderabad) to San francisco . The ticket was booked in India and we were hoping to get a travel companion for her and help her through gate changes, customs and related stuff. When we talked to travel agents they kept postponing until one week before departure (She leaves on 14th). Now they were able to locate one companion until London but after that they split.
Eventhough wheelchair assistance was requested from London and confirmed. I am worried that she never traveled by herself and she wouldn't be able to complete all the forms or answer all the questions or even stand in the right queue by herself at the port of entry in San francisco.
I am sure there will be other passengers from London to San francisco but I want to talk to them before she gets on the plane and not leave to chance and hope somebody helps her. With all the new privacy issues how do we get in touch with Telugu(worst case Hindi) speaking people on the plane from London to San francisco.
I would appreciate your input

Any one who filed in June and is already approved must have been pre-adjudicated, which means both name check and finger printing must have happened before the new fiscal year began. Anyway, from our perspective and not USCIS'S, EB3 has a long way to go.

Trust me, this is not being done in any cheap manner. It is not cheap to ask what you deserve. It is not cheap to express one's opinion in a diginified manner not offending anyone. It is not cheap to explain your problems to your lawmaker.
If you think that participating in this rally is cheap and only uneducated would shout on the roads, then come to DC to witness PhDs, MBAs, PMPs, CPAs, Attorneys and some of the brightest and the best minds shout at the top of their voice to fix the broken immigration system.
Sounds unbelievable, come, witness it for yourself on Sept 18th at Washington Monument.

They clearly said estimated 300K received. This 300K estimate includes all I-485 petitions, do not confuse and speculate incorrect info.

If you read the last line of the paragaraph from NYT posted by OP "As a result, the total tally of applications received in the last six weeks was not available ", this info runs counter to what NYT claimes USCIS received .
Thats why I speculated. Dont gimme the "dont speculate or confuse us" crap.

Dear Friend I totally agree with you. I was with one of these employers and have moved away from them. As suggested by some members you can report about these fraudulent activities to DOL. I know it is dufficult to leave these employers as they make the employees to sign bonds and try to capture all the money that they have acquired in PF etc back in the native country.
These employers are to be blamed for the current economy condition of this country and the condition of immigrants like us.
I know there are some members in this forum who will try to shout you down and make you quite.
But I feel if one believe in what is right then one should go ahead irrespective of what others think.
Now that you have left your abusive employer, would you mind disclosing your ex-employer information?
