I've installed a bunch of new Win7 machines over the last days, including Macs, and all installed and updated to SP1 just fine.
Hmm... I wonder why it won't let me update then. I left it on the "installing updates" status for like 4 hours and it was still at 0%. I'll try again tonight.

I could be wrong here, but I believe for selector to work you have to at least declare an incoming object:
- (void)pumpdoubletap:(id) sender {
progbm.progress -=0.1;
}
- (void)pumpdoubletap:(id) sender {
progbm.progress -=0.1;
}

This freakin sucks if it is the last album ever. Hopefully it is like Top Gear at every end of the season and just speculation that it is the last one......

Oh, good.
So they're going to adopt a vertical business model and make their own hardware locked to their software, that will be targeted toward providing a superior user experience.
Smart move. Finally!

just use the migration assistant either in the new account setup via firewire or do the transfer after the account is created on the new computer via ethernet (just make sure the username/short name is not the same on your old computer). you can then just delete the account on the iMac either in single user mode or by creating a new admin account and deleting it when logged in from there

The AIRs are possibly the most improved machine Apple has e we come out with. Apple went from selling junk to selling a benchmark ultra portable machine.
Sadly I'm not in the market, mostly because I need far more secondary storage. That is certain to be addressed as flash shrinks. However I was actually disappointed that the recent MBP updates didn't take advantage of some of the ideas expressed in the AIR. It looks like Apples Mac Book Pro design team is a little stale.

Hi
I'm finishing an animation which I need to burn to DVD for a client.
Flash gives me the option of saving quicktime files with different resolutions. I'm thinking 800 x 600 but it appeared really pixelly in imovie.
I've just bought toast 6 which allows you to drop a quicktime file straight into Toast and it then converts it to DVD.
I'm wondering if anyone can suggest a good resolution to render the movie in?
Thanks
David

I know it is jpeg data because the key in the plist is called "jpegphoto". And what I posted is just the beginning. I shortened it b/c that actual data is very long. Thanks!

Can't you do a redirect without a category -- just so all the old links aren't broken?
I dunno. I tried to add something to the wiki and it didn't work right so I got scared and deleted what I added. I'm just gonna stick to editing wikis and not starting new topics.

i have this (http://www2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/vModelDetail?displayTab=O&storeId=11251&catalogId=11005&itemId=70538&catGroupId=11133&modelNo=SC-EN7&surfModel=SC-EN7) one. it's the low-end of the panasonic "micro" ones. it has a motorized cd player that opens vertically :cool:, quite a nice radio for the size of it and it has an AM antenna which I love. only a hundred bucks though i didn't see where you live lol. looks quite good and very small. not sure if that's what you meant by cd player though...my room is like 9x8ft and this really fills it up. 3.5mm audio in for airport express too :p not that i have one...

I went to John Lewis' today to look at the Apple Cinema Displays (I've always thought I'd prefer a glossy display like my HP 22"), but I was suprised at how much more accurate the colour was on the ACD in comparison to the 24" iMac.
I couldn't tell which one had a nicer picture as they were both locked onto the Mac login screen but, after seeing them, I must admit, I like the Matte more than the glossy I think.

At a minimum you'd want a Gigabit Ethernet Switch, and some CAT-5e cables. Over the 30-foot run, CAT-5 cables may work just as well.
If you haven't changed the Network settings on the Mac Pros, they should each pick up a self-assigned IP address as soon as you plug them into the switch, and they'll be able to talk to each other over the wired network.
The problem is that these machines presumably are all on the same wireless network. You want to ensure that the big files travel over the wired network and not the wireless. The default network service order for OS X puts the Ethernet network first, but some folks have observed that this doesn't always work as expected.
Using the self-assigned IP addresses when you open up folders on the remote machines will force the use of the wired network, but it's not as simple as just picking them off the Finder list. It may be worth manually configuring the IP addresses on the wired network if it turns out you have to type them into the Finder's Connect to Server dialog box often.

Ya I've tried it on other systems and all works good. I seem to really be the only person having this problem the administrator said. Everything else I try to do works good as well, I mean websites. Have you ever heard of this happening before to other sites?

Hey guys,
I have a powermac g4 digital audio I believe, 700 mhz processor. I also have 2 powermac g3's I believe the fastest that created. 400 mhz or something like that. I have another g4 with the 350 processor that I can test the power control which with but it would be a pain because my grandparents are using it so it would take a while to get it unhooked/dug out, they use it as a paper holder behind a desk cords and everything are ran through the desk.
Here's my 3 questions:
1. The Powermac g4 when you push the power button it lights up but when you release it goes out. The logicboard does not respond. Should I buy a new power control module or is there a way to use the one from the g3, it looked different at first glance.
2. To run a home server is it better to run a g4 with the faster processor or a g3 with more ram, the g3 has 4 slots the g4 only 3.
3. Best way to use as a media server I was thinking put everything into itunes and use the homesharing, is that available in tiger? Is that the best way to do it?
It will be used with apple tv, macbook, powerbook, ibook, imac g5, xbox 360?
Thanks in advance for the advice.
Here's the short version:
1. Which powermac to use as a server?
2. Best way to do media server?
