sometimes apple is really good at advertising the same things the previous product already had but they make it sound like its a new feature..
What they advertise is "Now a richer Multi-Touch experience comes to the Mac", and that's indeed true as there are a lot of new gestures.

My situation is kind of strange so I'm not sure what to do.
I'm a student about to graduate, however I'm 29 years old and have a lot of professional experience too. A lot of the places I looked at do "student" and "professional" resumes so I'm not sure which to go with since the student resume's seem geared towards getting internships.
The internships I am applying for are for software development positions however my professional experience is in IT doing maintenance, management and repair work on Windows servers and desktops. The only development experience I have is being a hobbyist developer since roughly 1997.
From the research I've been doing people going after development jobs need a technical resume which is formatted differently and generally longer. I'm not sure what these "student" resume's are I keep seeing so I think I will be better off just going with a professional resume.

I think we will just have to wait and see. This does tie in with the none-touch touch interface, but then again these things develop significantly, so whatever that guy was talking about would be already quite different.
I still think a vPod before Christmas could help divert attention from the Zune, which only has a 4:3 screen (no, really)
But as others have said, the scroll wheel just feels so right.
I'm hoping for this thingy to be an iLife to Go. with photos, music, movies, WiFi, and some basic PDA functions (ical, ichat, mail, addressbook..., iWork?)
It could be a 4th line of iPods, or even a 6th line of Macs

It reminds me of the Zelda Power Bracelet. I'd be worried about damaging it.

Is there going to be another iPod updater that will incorporate the features like the searching and fast scrolling letter label thing onto current 5G iPods? I hope so, that searching has been a feature calling from me for ages...:)

I'm amazed at the news too. One of the things T-Mobile had going for it is they were one of only two large providers (with Cingular) in the US that used an international standard. It's sad to see them switch away from it.
T-Mobile is adding a UMTS network to their existing GSM network. Like Cingular, they run GSM on 1900MHz (Cingular also uses 850) because the 1800/900 frequencies available outside the US are not available in the US.
T-Mobile's UMTS network will be running on 2.1/1.7GHz. Again, the 2.1/1.9GHz frequencies used by UMTS in other countries are not available in the US.
There is no change in their support for international standards. Other than operating frequencies - something they have no control over - they're implementing the exact same standards that, say, Vodafone, Orange, T-Mobile, and O2 are implementing in the UK. GSM on some frequencies. 3GSM (UMTS) on others.

Well, gaming through VPC is so bad it's practially a contradiction in terms.
If you hinge you switch on gaming, that's a tough sell.
However, there are many games available for the Mac natively. How about you poke around on Apple's site and other game manufacturer to see if there is a native version before you make your decision.
Yes, there are more games for PC, but Macs usually get the best of breed of those. This could be a non-issue.

So, what ever happened to the local snapshots feature?
It still exists, but I don't know if there is a preference pane for it. I don't know how to use it.

OK... I am not sure if it needs to get sent out, but if it does, you're gonna be outta luck for a little while. I need to get my pb repaired too, but because of the hurrican, the houston plant has been completely evacuated and all air shipments have been stopped. So I wouldn't worry about taking it in for like another week or so. I am supposed to send my Apple Store Guy a e-mail later in the week to get an update about when I should come in. So, yeah I would call the Apple store before you do anything. Oh, and sent out repairs are usually estimated at 7-10 days. ;)

Good news, let's hope these rumors are true. This would help round out the iWork suite even more, and I may actually consider purchasing it if this is the case. For now, I'll hang onto my Office v.X though...

1) The mini is 2x as expensive as iTV
2) The mini would cost even more with HDMI (at least right now)
3) A lot of consumers just want the simplicity of a set-top box.
4) Others don't want to waste the power of a full computer just as a media center.
You forgot...
5) Because iTV is targeted at iPod/iTunes users - the majority of which use Wintel systems to manage their media. Making this a "Mac only" product would cut off the bulk of Apple's target market. Many of these Windows users would not want to buy a second computer running an unfamiliar OS just to stream their movies and music.

I dunno; the way these articles make it sound, people had to buy their iPods because they already had large iTunes accounts, and it was the only way to listen to their music. But of course it was the other way around, that the store was the result of the iPod. I suppose it would be nice to have the option to put my purchased iTunes mp3s on a different player (although I don't see myself doing it), but I agree with everyone about the integration and ease of use keeping the iTunes market strong. And unless other mp3 players can be easily synched with your iTunes playlists and music, the whole DRM thing seems pretty moot to me. The iPod is iConic (couldn't help myself :p ); it'll take a lot of great word of mouth and aggressive marketing by other companies to even take a real bite out of Apple.;)

You need to add Joe Smith to your address book and then you will be able to pull him up by name. What it's doing now is pulling up previously used email addresses. You can right click on the email address in the "To:" field and add to address book.

Thanks all.
Someone PM'd me directly after this post and I am going to buy (at a fair price) some new headphones from him.
Since I am a man of my word, I am not going to back out of that deal!
Thanks again!
I like a man of his word... And you can still get some for free!
